Benjamin Fidler died at 11 o'clock last night at his home on East Second Street. Death resulted from the injuries he sustained by being thrown from a wagon last Thursday. Pneumonia developed, involving the right lung, and became complicated with inflammation of the brain, which caused his demise. He was unconscious from Friday evening until life was extinct.
Mr. Fidler was born in Berks County, Pa., and came to Mansfield when but 12 years old. Had he lived until Thursday of this week he would have been 70 years old. He was twice married and leaves a widow and six children, three sons and three daughters.
His avocation was that of a blacksmith. His life was spent industriously at the forge and he was a man of honesty and integrity, well respected by all who knew him.
The funeral will occur at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from his late residence, 252 East Second Street. The services will be conducted by the Rev. George H. Reen, pastor of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, of which the deceased was a faithful and consistent member.
